Watching and Waiting

As told by John Barros:

Well after all the busy days they seem to have caught up from the abortions that people wanted to do during Hurricane Irma. There were only two here today and two left over from yesterday.

There was one interesting thing that happened. A young lady came yesterday and just stood outside. She told Pastor David she wasn’t there for that. She stood around forever watching. Then today she returned and did the same thing. It looked like she just didn’t want to go inside with folks on the sidewalk. Please pray she stays away.

Tonight I got to do my favorite thing. I was honored to be asked to speak to the students at Reformation Bible College. I love these young people so much and it is always wonderful. We had kids that have only been there a couple of weeks to a couple of dear veterans like Chelsea, and Sarah. These folks are the future and the future looks great.

All for the Money

As told by John Barros:

It was so horrible down here today. Just one of those crazy dark days. First thing this morning, Gabriel and Helen from last Wednesday showed up. Gabriel hit the driveway at about 25 mph and got Helen inside as fast as he could.
After everyone was inside, I began to preach. Half way through, Helen came outside. She was upset walked up to me and took my hand. She came up with so many stories as to why she had to do this and of course the date rape story was long forgotten. Now it was that she had an amnio test and her baby was autistic.

Helen asked me to stop preaching because it was upsetting to her and everyone inside. She thanked me for trying and everyone inside acknowledged the truth of what was being preached but they all “had to” do this. I touched her belly and it was so warm and firm. Her baby is 21 weeks now. I asked if she would pray with me and she said yes. She burst into tears as we prayed and then Gabriel and the workers inside realized what was going on and came running out to get her. As she was going inside, I said “All they want is your money. We just want to give to you.” Then she turned back and said something I have only heard a few times here. She said “No, John they aren’t charging me.”

I have had them call back clients that have left after talking over the years and the clients have told me their abortion was greatly discounted or free. They must have called Helen back after leaving last week. Last Wednesday they were going to charge her $2,000 and then today free? It is so crazy around here.

These workers are getting so aggressive lately. Literally trying to drag people that are on the porch listening back inside. The guy that runs these places told me he had to let one of their “counselors” go. He said “She was listening to you too much and was letting too many get away. We can’t have that, John.” Then he began to tell me that I’ve been poking the beast for too long and the beast is about to rise against you. He asked how I’ve lived so long being out here. I told him the Lord protects me and will continue to.

Please continue to pray.

Jesus Is All That Matters

Well, it was kinda wet and gloomy down here today. The folks that were coming to help weren’t able to make it, so it ended up being training day. Spent the day with Jesus and it was wonderful. When you are here alone you talk to Him all day. He showed me once again that He is all that matters.

I was blessed to watch Him turn away two young ladies, and then there was Dianna. She and her boyfriend came. He gave all the excuses you have ever heard. During the preaching folks were looking out the windows. About fifteen minutes after the preaching she came out crying and hyperventilating on the porch. I asked her boyfriend to take her to a real doctor and gave them our literature. They spoke for quite a while and then came out and went out back.

A few minutes later they drove up and rolled down the window. She was so thankful. He seemed a little shocked but I think he will come along…

The biggest fight today seemed to be between me and the workers that have begun replacing the ladies that have quit. It was job fair day here, with ladies coming to be interviewed. The folks that work here were yelling at me for telling the new potential workers about the record of this place, the devils that live here, and what God thinks about this place.

Please pray that the Lord opens the ears and hearts of the replacements that they might hear the Gospel.

God’s Beauty Is Beyond Words

As told by John Barros:

“Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!”  Psalm 107:31

I will try to explain today in words what the Lord did here today in front of Bradley and I, but you will not get it. There is no way you can because we experienced it but can’t really come to grips with how He moved here. God’s beauty is beyond words.

Today was pillow and blanket day. Six late term Moms were doing the “death march” out back, trying to hurry their labor to deliver their late term babies in a toilet. It started out very dark with no one listening.

The Lord turned two away and we watched him bring five ladies to choose life. The first was a lady that came out and said thank you. Her boyfriend was angry and could not believe she changed her mind.

Then Awlna came. She and her friend are Muslim and came for an abortion. They stayed in their car and listened as they were told that God hates the shedding of innocent blood and that we could help them. I told them I know an Imam that told me abortion is the worst sin in Islam. They became absolutely horrified. They said over and over again “I know! I know!” Then they began thanking and thanking. They drove off waving and thanking us.

Then Crystal came by. She chose life for her boy three and a half years ago. As she came, Anna and her friend were dropped off. Anna said she had to have an abortion because the doctor told her something could be wrong. Crystal shared how doctors told her that with her boy but he is three and is her biggest blessing. They wouldn’t listen. Anna went in but after the preaching she came out several times.

When the truck came for a weeks worth of dead babies, I just had to preach again. Anna’s friend came out and said Anna went back to have her abortion. Bradley, Peter, and I began praying. We asked the Lord to literally get her off the table and bring her out. We went crazy when she came out with her friend in tears. It turns out there is nothing wrong with the baby and she is 13 weeks. We were able to pray with her and off they went.

Then Maria came out and took her wannabe New York vanilla ice boy to task. They went to war on the side of the building, down back, in the car, and up the drive with him flipping us off and her thanking us.

Then there is Nikki. She is a very tall, beautiful young lady. From the minute she arrived I keyed on her. After the preaching she came out and walked to the side. Everywhere she would walk on the brick sidewalk I would mirror her on the concrete one. For over four hours she would come in and out countless times. Through every preaching time she would come out and look out the windows. I really didn’t know what else to say. I sat on the wall next to Bradley, exhausted.

The door opened one more time and it was her. She peeked around the tree and asked “can I have a hug?” I am still weeping here even as I am writing this. I said of course and stood to walk to her. She came running, sobbing with tears of joy, and hit me like a train. She said “my name is Nikki, thank you so much.”

I can’t even tell you the other things she said. It was like time stopped, like I was watching a movie. I began to feel like I was blacking out. I said I think I might be having a heart attack. Nikki said “no, John, you have to meet my baby.”

We had such an unbelievable time of praying and praising Jesus for what He had done for her. I told her to get to Choices. She said “I will, but right now, John, I am going home to bed. I am worn out.”

I cannot fathom how good God is. He snatched Nikki and these others out of the gates of hell today. It was so surreal watching Him saving these people all around as others were out back marching their babies to death. I can’t believe the blessing I receive by being able to watch Him show off.

Thankful

As told by John Barros:

Luke 14:23  “Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled’.”

So thankful to belong to a church that lives out this verse.  All these folks want to express their thanks to St. Andrew’s and all the folks that have been praying for them.10665056_10204981422683656_6446412702523583520_n.

Excited to Worship

As told by John Barros:

  Tonight I have a massive desire to worship; I can’t wait to get to church tomorrow.  My friend, Tanner, showed me this hymn last Saturday and I can’t get it out of my mind.  It is so beautiful.  Not just as a poem, but the truth within it is wonderful.

Not What My Hands Have Done
By: Horatius Bonar

“Not what my hands have done can save my guilty soul;
Not what my toiling flesh has borne can make my spirit whole.
Not what I feel or do can give me peace with God;
Not all my prayers and sighs and tears can bear my awful load.

Your voice alone, O Lord, can speak to me of grace;
Your power alone, O Son of God, can all my sin erase.
No other work but Yours, no other blood will do;
No strength but that which is divine can bear me safely through.

Thy work alone, O Christ, can ease this weight of sin;
Thy blood alone, O Lamb of God, can give me peace within.
Thy love to me, O God, not mine, O Lord, to Thee,
Can rid me of this dark unrest, And set my spirit free.

I bless the Christ of God; I rest on love divine;
And with unfaltering lip and heart I call this Savior mine.
His cross dispels each doubt; I bury in His tomb
Each thought of unbelief and fear, each lingering shade of gloom.

I praise the God of grace; I trust His truth and might;
He calls me His, I call Him mine, My God, my joy and light.
’Tis He who saveth me, and freely pardon gives;
I love because He loveth me, I live because He lives.”906655_10204638773037629_2772202863001778388_o.

Presuming Upon God’s Grace

As told by John Barros:

 My pastor, R.C. Sproul, spoke in his sermon yesterday about people presuming upon God’s grace even when they are killing their children… we sure had several of those people come today.  It’s amazing to hear people day in and day out say God will forgive them, or already has as they go into this place.  We had many conversations today, some filled with tears, but only had one turn away. 10516868_10204366354027324_4423859515223880606_n So thankful to have Mr. and Mrs. Sarnicki, who came to the, “Who Will Stand” meeting come down.  They spent the whole day down here… what a blessing they are.  More of the RBC kids are filtering back in and they worked very hard today.  God was glorified10509660_10204366354467335_6034916891076078102_n.

Busy Day

As told by John Barros:

Today was a busy day, filled with angry people and folks telling us God will forgive them for having an abortion.  There was one young lady that came with her Mother.  She came out to speak with us and said her Mother had forced her to have an abortion when she was really young, and she was now pressuring her to have another.10423761_10204344096430898_19635087940028026_n  In the end she decided she wanted to keep her baby and possibly give her baby to another couple.  We gave her the info on where to go for that when her Mother started screaming, “Oh My God” over and over again.  The young lady left but please pray for her as this looks like it could be tough.

After all the guys yesterday it was such a blessing to have so many girls down to help.  These ladies are so precious… so thankful.

As told by John Barros:

  I know its hard to believe, but I got a call from a clinic worker tonight.  She told me she helped talk a lady out of an abortion today, and wanted to know if we could help her. Please pray that all goes well tomorrow… The Lord truly does work in mysterious ways..
