God Showing Himself

As told by John Barros:

God showed Himself in power and grace today. Three young ladies chose life.

One in such a sweet way: He used Abigail, Beth, and Sarah to minister to Mia. Her husband Greg stood beside her. Greg and Mia see a need to get right with God and have asked for help in finding a church where they live in Melbourne.

God also touched the heart of a young lady named Juanita. Mia and Juanita both went to Choices; Daria Monroe, Callie Caraballo, and the rest of that team began them on a road to help.

There were so many conversations today. The RBC students were busy all day with their apologetics skills. R.C. Sproul, Jr. came down and labored. It is always a very special day when he comes down. He is such a preacher and encourager.

Then Mary and Mandy from Life For Kids came down to help. I am so thankful for Bradley, Andrew, and Zachary Johnson. What an awesome end to a tough week. Our God reigns..

A Hard Day at the Pit

As told by John Barros:

It was a cold, hard rainy day down at the pit today. There were two who came for abortions and I believe six late-term moms in their second day of labor.

I actually had to call the police on one of the guys inside. He came up to Bryan McDaniel and told him “I am really with you guys and am going to take care of this place. If you would like to see how, be here Monday with your cameras.” We hate abortion, but…

The guys tried to sing hymns but I will be glad when the girls get back. Bradley Spruill and Bryan were back, and Isaac George as well. Patrick Steckbeck came down for his first time and preached.

It was very difficult today and we were all overcome with sadness as they picked up two huge boxes of dead babies.

Please pray that the seeds sown will take root..

Stories

As told by John Barros:

What a crazy day. There were so many stories. Only one left, but hopefully God’s Word will burn on their hearts and bring them to repentance.

Some wonderful people came down to serve: Beth Kee, and dear Facebook friends Cody and Kimberly May came all the way from Connecticut to serve.

A young lady who chose life five months ago came back. Brittani had a little girl named Karma, and she wanted to hear the gospel again. I gave her a bible and she wants to come to Saint Andrew’s with me on Sunday.

Tracey came back; she is such a blessing, not only to the people coming here but all of us as well. We are all so honored to have her here with us. The RBC kids worked tirelessly. Thank you all for praying. Please continue..

The Battle Belongs to the Lord

As told by John Barros:

I have been getting many messages asking about the two late-term moms who left on their second and third days of labor. I don’t have anything to report; sadly I have not heard from them. Both said they would contact me but haven’t.

This could be a bad sign and their baby may have died. Randall Whitney gives a shot that is supposed to stop the heart of the baby, but according to a nurse friend of mine that does not always work.

They may not have called because so many who come try to put as much distance as possible between them and this place when they are gone.

Whatever the reason. I have not heard. Some have asked if it is worth it to get these ladies to change their mind at this point. Of course it is! It was the Lord Jesus who turned these girls’ hearts through His gospel. I don’t understand how He works and wish things could be neat, tidy, and tied up in a pretty bow, but they seldom are down here.

I remember once sharing the gospel to a lady out back 24 weeks pregnant whose water had just broken leaning on an IV pole, crying and wearing nothing but an old hospital gown, asking if there was any hope for her. It’s not neat and tidy here but the Lord is here.

So tomorrow a new batch of late-term moms will be here. We will pray and wrestle harder than ever to fight before they take the shot, but will continue to call out with the gospel on Thursday and Friday because Jesus has called us to. We remember the battle belongs to the Lord.

Won’t you join us in prayer?.

Mondays

As told by John Barros:

Mondays are hard to minister down here because they do very early abortions and people like to think the baby is not a baby yet. Today was beautiful though, and God used the girls to help two young ladies choose life.

One young lady named Cherrie went to Choices. Her husband wanted her to keep the baby but she was very abortion minded. The sonographer was able to get the baby’s heartbeat and they were able to see their baby. After Cherrie saw that and the look on her husband’s face she chose life. It was so beautiful. I am so thankful to Jesus and His handmaidens Jessica, Bonnie, Abigail, and Grace.

Another 22-week pregnant young lady named Heather came by today. I was able to get her in touch with Daria yesterday. She was homeless and saw no hope. She came by today; she has a place to stay and now sees hope. Daria has already been so busy this week. God is so good..

Spring Break

As told by John Barros:

Spring break began today for many colleges and universities. I wonder how many kids from other colleges were excited about the break so they could serve God in front of one of the gates of hell like these Reformation Bible College kids. I have never met college kids even close to the devotion to God that these kids show. They are such an inspiration and I love them so much. They prayed, preached, wept, sang, and spoke to people all day long.

I was sitting on the wall watching the girls sing The Deep Deep Love Of Jesus when I had a new realization of how special that 40 feet of sidewalk is. Right there where they were singing three places come together: the world is behind them, going about their business; hell is in front of them; and heaven is above them. The world, hell, and heaven all meet right there. What a special place it is. We get to come together to bring light and serve the world. We can worship our King before the world and hell. We are blessed to watch our God do miracles that most will never get to see. There is no 40 feet of earth quite like it.

Heaven broke through to one young lady’s heart today. She came out, said she was going to keep her baby and didn’t need any help. Thank you all for praying. Please continue to!.

Charlene

Urgent prayer request from John Barros:

Please pray. Two have chosen life so far this morning and this lady on the left is Charlene. She is in her second day of labor. She heard the gospel all day yesterday. God began convicting her last night and today came out repenting and wanting to go to the hospital to stop it. We prayed with her. She is inside trying to get her purse and keys.

They are telling her the baby is dead, that they won’t give her a refund, but that they will remove the laminaria.

2/28 UPDATE:

Well I thought I would give an update on the events at OWC today. God moved in a mighty way indeed. There were four thankful ladies who chose life. The other three were just as beautiful but Charlene was such a battle. You would not even believe this face is the same girl who came Wednesday.

She came Wednesday morning at 8:00. She is 19 years old and 22 weeks pregnant. Wednesday she heard the pleas of all the kids from RBC preaching all morning, then Savannah Brenyo, TJ, and Kelli Wilder came in the afternoon and called out to her. She went home Wednesday night after having a shot and lamineria sticks placed in her uterus. She said she thought about what she had heard and came under conviction.

This morning she came back with her friend to complete the abortion. She hid her face in a pillow as she came in. Het friend was quite angry we were here and let me and Bradley know it. She stood on the steps giving every reason why this should happen. She listened as she was given some of the hard things God’s Word says about sin and its consequences. The most amazing thing happened: she immediately came under conviction; began weeping and wanted to know what to do. She went in to try to talk Charlene out of this.

I began preaching and before I finished she came out and wanted to talk. She decided to go to the hospital to have it reversed. It took a while because the workers didn’t want to let her go. They finally did after making her sign a release paper. Thankfully a dear couple, Chuck and Mary, arrived and drove to the hospital with the girls following. Chuck and Mary made sure Charlene was admitted and got care. Charlene is thankful to everyone involved for caring but was so refreshed to have someone her age speak to her. Savannah just “happened” to show up. God’s timing is amazing!

Please pray for her. Randall told her her baby was already dead. She was going to do everything she could to save her baby but is aware of that possibility. God opened and turned her heart and she just wanted to do what’s right..

Very Busy

As told by John Barros:

A whole new bunch of late-term moms as well as others came down today. It was very busy. Two left but there were still so many. The RBC kids did a wonderful job in the morning and after they left to go back to school the Lord sent some others.

My Facebook friends TJ and Kelli Wilder were down here from Lexington on vacation and came by. They were quickly pressed into service and ministered like they had been here all their lives. What a wonderful family. I only got to spend an afternoon with them but I hated to see them leave.

There were so many conversations today and there is no doubt many of these conversations will pick back up tomorrow.

Jesus sent a young lady who is 34 weeks pregnant down. She shared that she needed help and wanted to get right with God. We all shared the truth with her and had a time of prayer. She and her husband are going to come with me to Saint Andrew’s on Sunday. Savannah took her to First Life for the tangible needs she has. There was lots of light in a very dark day. God is so kind. Please continue to pray..

Seeing God Work in New Ways

As told by John Barros:

We got to see God work in a way we haven’t before. In the years here I have never seen anything like this. First thing this morning a lovely young lady came to have an abortion but she was open to talk. God worked on her heart and she said she wanted to call her mother, who is a Christian. Her mom spoke to her daughter and she chose life. A Christian couple came but God delivered them from this place.

Then a couple who were in their third day of labor from their late-term abortion continued to curse, blaspheme, and threaten. About fifteen minutes after their last outburst they came out and wanted to talk to me. The folks who were there thought they were going to kill me. I went in the street to speak with them. They both looked me in the eyes and they completely changed. They looked like completely different people. They thanked me and left to the hospital to have the laminaria sticks removed from her uterus.

The abortion clinic got upset and called the police because their “patient” left in the middle of an abortion. I am sure they were just worried about their liability. We have spent all afternoon in absolute amazement over how powerful God is.

This has been a crazy week, folks! I saw so many praise reports on Facebook from dear friends like Lisa and Jocelyn. God is being praised all over the place today. I am so very thankful that my pastor Burk Parsons came down. He so blessed and encouraged us all. We are so blessed to have him.

Beth Goble and the RBC kids were phenomenal. So thankful for some of the folks from the Orlando House of Prayer who came down to pray. It was a powerful day today. Thank you all for praying..
