Laying in Wait

As told by John Barros:

After some of the best few days I have ever had, the enemy was laying in wait back at OWC. I am so thankful for Pastor Burk’s sermons yesterday. They were strength to my bones. Today was one crazy attack after another. There were the usual people cursing and screaming all manner of vileness, but then a guy came who was on a different level altogether.

He screamed like a demon with death threat after death threat, then ran over and swung at me– all the while screaming unintelligibly. He went inside and after a while began screaming inside, came out and started kicking the front doors in. His lady and her father came out in disbelief and left.

Then a lady came and as I handed her a brochure she spit all over my face. A young lady who comes from down the street to serve said something to her and a brawl ensued. I got that separated but they turned on me with more death threats. I told people with me “No matter what happens, do not call the police.” Of course someone did, and six officers came.

Just like always the police turned on me, and the people who had done all this made up lies so the police did a big “investigation”. And of course the people who called the police took off. They had me fill out a report saying I would not press charges. People don’t realize that down here the police are not our friends. One told me before that if I ever got shot or stabbed they wouldnt even arrest the person based on the law that was used in the Treyvon Martin case.

Two beautiful young ladies, Gabrielle and Alexza, came down for their first time. What troopers these ladies were. They did not fear and held steadfast in prayer. Alexza even had some spit in the midst of all this. Her goal is to work in orphanages in China. She has done it and is trying to get her education finished. I was missing bluegrass friends today. Please continue to pray. Two babies got to see another day. I hope their decision holds firm and wasn’t just because of the craziness.

Teniqua

As told by John Barros:

Please pray for precious little Teniqua. God was working on her heart as she arrived and during the preaching she trusted Him. She is so thankful and her mother said “Thank you!” over and over.

Please pray for this young lady and these RBC students as they sacrifice what precious little time they have preparing for finals…..

Cynthia

As reported by John Barros:

“It sure is tough ministering down here during Easter week. To know what joy there is in Jesus and the price He paid for our sin. It’s so hard to see people come and kill their children. Thankfully, God turned the hearts of three young ladies today… The young lady in the photo, Cynthia, wanted to say thank you to the ladies that gave her the items in her Blessing Bag.  She went to True Life Choices and got loved up by the ladies there.  Please continue to pray for God to open the eyes of those coming tomorrow.”.10262135_10203633597468868_6682684108468856982_n

Special Day

As reported by John Barros:

“Today was special… At first the horror of this place was overwhelming.  To think that we remember Jesus going to His death this week and seeing people, especially professing Christians, coming to kill their babies is unbelievable.  God’s Word went forth though and it convicted three ladies.  Not enough time to go into it all but the first lady came out immediately after the preaching in tears. 10151877_10203622463070515_3437082305350863389_n They didn’t need anything and her husband looked like he had no idea what had happened.  The second lady seemed to be softening on the porch even though her Grandmother was rushing her to fill out the paperwork.  She came out after finding out she was having twins and one of her babies was outside her uterus… She prayed with Jessica and Sarah and went to the hospital.   Dr. Collins told me if the baby is ectopic the hospital will have to take him.  It was amazing to watch this young lady go from wanting an abortion to wanting to save her babies. Then a young lady came out like she had drank about 10 energy drinks saying “I don’t know why but I’m not doing this!”  When offered a Blessing Bag and info on where to go she just kept saying, “I’m not doing this…”  Daria came down to encourage us today… She is such a blessing and these Reformation Bible College kids are so awesome! They show me hope for the future.  Please continue to pray… You are making a difference.”  1175388_10203622463990538_5158905074990684366_n.

Blessing Bags

As reported by John Barros:

“So unbelievably blessed!  A group of ladies from around the country pray daily for the Ministry down here.   These ladies not only pray but send “Blessing Bags” to give to the ladies that choose life… They sent handmade soaps, caps, booties, etc. 970585_10203602409969200_1017634537345829700_n Well a man has to know his limitations; I could never put these together so God sent Jessica and Leslie down from Reformation Bible College. Even Dr. Collins was admiring all the gifts.1538886_10203602408449162_1775320989823441222_n  Please pray for hands to put these into this week.  This is the hardest week to be down here, seeing the ultimate blaspheme of murdering babies the week we celebrate our Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection…”.

Mourning Plants But Not Babies

As reported by John Barros:

Wednesdays are always awful down here with late-term abortions as well as the others but today had an added strangeness. It was weird to see the workers come out and mourn the loss of a couple of the plants they had recently planted while sixteen girls were inside having abortions.

There was another guy worried about his car. He was making such a fuss that the policeman brought him outside to talk. Another guy was mocking and telling Jennifer that if she would swim across the lake he would keep their baby. Life is so cheap in Orlando. Cars and plants are of more value to the folks down here than a baby.

People came by filming the preaching and snapping pictures of whoever is here. This kind of thing is getting to be a daily occurrence. The lady who runs these clinics pulled up and asked how I liked Fort Lauderdale. I asked how she knew and she said it is her job to find out everything about me. It’s just really getting weirder.

There was some AWESOME NEWS though: God rescued two babies today. Then a girl named Lindsay heard the preaching and came down to listen. When I was done she asked if she could speak to me about God. I was able to sit on the wall and go through the gospel with her. She came under deep conviction about her sin and was brought to Repentance. It was so beautiful. Please pray for Lindsay as she will be coming to Saint Andrew’s with me this Sunday. Jennifer got her contact info and will be helping her. Please pray for her.

Then a man named Dennis came down. He had seen the video and wants to help down here when he can. He is becoming a member of Saint Andrew’s on Sunday. It was a busy, busy day, folks; please continue to pray..

The Steadfast Love of the Lord Never Ceases

As told by John Barros:

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. God is so gracious.

This morning “Anna” arrived by taxi. She saw no hope or any way to have a baby right now. Jennifer and Jacob lovingly spoke words of life to her. She kept wanting to go in and I believe everyone said everything that could be said but she did go inside. Prayers went up because we can run out of words but Jesus doesn’t. God opened her eyes and gave her a small faith and trust and she came out to the glee of all the counselors.

After prayer Jessica and I took her to True Life Choices. She was loved by the staff and given an ultrasound by Callie. After having her life poured into by those wonderful ladies we took her home. It was a long ride and we could see God removing scales from her eyes and drawing her to Himself. At one point she said “Thank you for being there. I would have made the biggest mistake of my life.”

It was unbelievable to watch God literally change many people’s lives through changing the heart of one young lady. Her boyfriend is very supportive and wants to start a family. I could go on and on. She has been texting with Jenn and Jessica. She is a completely different person. There is nothing like this. Please pray for her..

More Work at OWC

As told by John Barros:

It has been so busy lately I can’t even believe it. I haven’t been able to post much on OWC. It’s been brutal down here but last Friday three ladies chose life; one due to God turning a guy into a man and standing up for his lady and baby.

Today was very strange; only two came for abortions. A man came to clean the clinic’s basement sump pump.

There was one beautiful bit of verified news. A young lady I have prayed with and for for many years finally quit! God had been working on her heart and toward the end she came in crying every day. Please continue to pray for these workers..

Never Prepared

As told by John Barros:

No matter how long you do this you’re never ready for the horror of the second day of late-term abortions. The abortion was started yesterday and the women were sent home to begin labor. They come back with their pillows and blankets to continue.

Some of these people will most likely be here until Friday marching around in the back parking lot to hurry up the labor. There always seems to be a stench in the air during these late-term marches. Prayers are requested for today.

Such A Battle

As told by John Barros:

It was such a battle down here today. It was really busy. I spent a long time in the morning with a couple, going through everything. I was able to get Daria Monroe from True Life Choice on the phone to speak with them. She took off from home and got her staff to come in early to serve the young couple.

They chose life, had me pray for them, but when he started the car she got out and went back inside the clinic. It was awful. She was more than twenty weeks pregnant but wouldn’t listen.

There were several late-term moms today. There was one beautiful young lady who chose life, though. She had a friend who brought her. When the friend’s eyes were opened she fought hard to get the mom out of here.

It is such an honor to serve with Tracey, Jennifer Toor (who is five weeks pregnant now), Bradley Spruill, and a couple of Jonathans. These two young men really feel God is calling them to this ministry. Thanks for praying..
