No Pictures

As told by John Barros:

I can’t really post pictures from today. It was not a good day for that. There were so many ladies who came back for their late-term abortions. Some came back after their pill abortions were started several days ago, as well as some from yesterday.

There was one lady who spoke with me at length; she even came over to the wall, sat and talked. Later she came out in tears and walked around the block but returned and went through with it.

There was one young lady though who spoke with me about 8:30. She went out back to think, and over an hour later she pulled out in her car and gave a “thank you” toot on her horn. Please pray she doesn’t return.

I am so thankful that Bill served with me today and that Brad and Richard came by for some time in the morning.

This is just one of those days where I look through my friends and family’s pictures. Young mothers like those at Saint Andrew’s or in Lexington and the Carolinas. Seeing the beauty of their children and how they are loved by their parents. Sometimes things can get to you, but life Is beautiful.

Busy Servants

As told by John Barros:

It was very busy today. There were almost twenty here. We didn’t have any say they chose life, but we had two turn-aways. One young lady pulled up and Bill was able to speak with her at length. She got out of her car but never went in. She took our info and said she was going to Choices.

The other one was quite interesting. A couple came and wouldn’t listen. I told the guy the motto I’ve seen on the news so much lately is “every black life matters.” I told him that includes his son. He became highly upset and got so close to my face screaming that I found a cavity in one of his molars. This is certainly not unusual, but what happened next is. He went in and came back out mumbling something. He got in his car and drove away. 10-15 minutes later he came back, stayed in the street, and his lady ran out, got in the car and sped away. Please pray for these two.

We had two pastors from a couple of new churches stop by to check things out and encourage us. We made a new friend today as well. Fredo was preaching and a young lady, Nancy, heard him in the parking lot all the way down the street at a high rise. She came down and spent her lunch hour watching, learning, and asking questions. We had a great time and she will be back. It was awesome to serve with Philip Kinkopf, Samantha Shaffer, Elsie Allen-Farrow, and Bonnie Franke. They are such servants..

Everything Changing

As told by John Barros:

Everything is changing here. A young lady left today and said the workers told the early people to come back in a few hours so they wouldn’t have to hear the preaching. Over twenty came for abortions today. Many of them late-term pill abortions that were here last week. Randall Whitney was the abortionist today. He rarely does them on Mondays.

We had a great turnout. Tracey Sarnicki, Bill, Stephen, Angel, Consuela, Jesse Stiemann, Steven Montalvo, and Philip Kinkopf came to serve. God is really lighting a fire in these people.

A young lady named Martha came out today. She was angry and flustered. She stopped and listened to scripture. Then she walked up to the sidewalk; we talked and had prayer. God opened her eyes and she left. She went to Choices and got loved on by all those ladies. Martha is in a tough spot: she is in an abusive relationship, has no papers, works as a cleaning lady and has two kids already. Please pray she.will continue to trust God and reach out to us..

Homecoming

As told by John Barros:

Today there were lots of people that came to have abortions and it was ugly but one young couple chose life.

Beth Goble saw a young couple walking down the street toward us and went to speak with them. She told them what God thought of this and about the hope there was in Jesus. She said the Lord touched them immediately and they asked for where they could go to begin getting help. They had a time of prayer and went to First Life.

That 15-year-old girl I spoke of yesterday returned on her bicycle for the third day and went through with her abortion. She looked horrible afterward, and believe it or not rode away on her bicycle.

Today was pretty awesome though, because so many people spent parts of their day coming by to help. It was like “homecoming” in a way. The truth was proclaimed and offers of hope and help filled the air..

Like Hell Itself

As told by John Barros:

Today was in so many ways like hell itself. This 24-hour wait ping pong ball is making things crazy down here. Today there was such a huge mix. We had people coming for their first consultation, people coming back for their abortions after their consultations from Tuesday and yesterday, late-term moms marching and passing out in the back hurrying their labor to deliver their babies into a toilet, children being brought here by their parents, people mocking us with threats and anger, and women returning for checkups after having abortions.

The clinic workers, feeling enabled by the law being blocked, did a lot of mocking. We actually had one come outside filming me while I preaced, “correcting” me in parts. It was crazy, just a long stream of evil. I don’t know where they are getting all these people and I don’t know how that 81 year old man is able to do all this.

This late-term mom couldn’t walk anymore. All she.could do was stand while tremors wracked her body. She just stood there puking and spitting, and wouldn’t go with me to the hospital.

She just buried her head in her hands in 95-degree Florida heat, mumbling and rocking back and forth. Ultimately she passed out with her head against the bumper, right below the sign on the building that says “Orlando Women’s Center Gives You The Care You Deserve” until they came and took her inside.

There were a couple of bright spots, though. A young lady yesterday said the picture of little John {admin note: the same image that appears on the website header} on my van was haunting her. She prayed with Chris and I, and did not return today. She said she was going to pray about it all last night.

There was also a young girl about 15 who came yesterday and today on her bicycle who fled both days after her dad thought she was safe inside. As soon as he left she did too, and rode away as fast as she could.

Then there was Cindy. She came yesterday for her consultation. She returned today for her abortion. Bill and I spoke with her about how God had followed her here and wanted her to trust Him. She broke into tears. We spoke at length and prayed with her, but she said she “had to” and went inside. Vicky from Choices was in the area and stopped by to encourage us. While she was there Cindy came out with a huge smile. She said she couldn’t stand it inside and was leaving. She was able to be loved on by Vicky and was told what they could do for her. Please pray for Cindy and the others from today. Pray they don’t return tomorrow.

Do these judges, politicians, and dare I say pastors have any idea what is going on out here?.

Total Insanity

As told by John Barros:

Today was total insanity. The place opened with no 24-hour waiting period in place. Then another judge put it back in effect, and another judge stopped it again. By the end of the day I believe 30+ came for abortions.

The people were quite angry that we were here but the Lord turned the hearts of three young ladies that chose life and two other turn-aways.

The Lord spaced folks through here throughout the day. Bill came in the morning and then God blessed by sending Laurey Nelson, who works for the First Life Pregnancy Center. She stopped by to pray for a bit. While she was here she was able to speak with a young lady. Later in the day Sheenan came out, chose life, and is going to visit Laurey at First Life. It was awesome. Please pray for her as well as Guanlen and Jennifer.

I am so thankful for Philip Kinkopf, Tara McPherson, and Fredo Perez. Some guy who brought his wife down here got in Fredo’s face. As unbelievable as it may seem, people get really angry because Fredo comes telling people that he and his wife will take their babies. At the very end the Lord sent Chris Raymond down and we were able to minister with a young lady. She said at 5:00 they had moved back to the 24-hour waiting period again and she.was going to think about it. She let us pray with her.

Way too much happened here to get into, but please continue to pray for the folks coming to this crazy place..

“Adopting” a Local Clinic

As told by John Barros:

It is such a blessing to serve with the members of my church down here. There is just such a bond when you are working with people who believe the same doctrine. Another huge advantage is that we now have a deacon from Saint Andrew’s here most days. When someone chooses life and needs help they can get plugged in with other ladies as well as the deacons.

Summer is in full force down here early this year. Today Tracey Sarnicki, Bill, Stephen, Philip Kinkopf, and Steven Montalvo came down. We had a couple and a lady leave today. It is always a battle. The couple came but couldn’t speak very good English. I was able to get Stella on the phone and the couple left to go to Choices. They were helped there but came back. I figured out he could understand more than he first let on. They left again, pulled up and took my card with “Thank you”s.

During the preaching a young lady kept looking out the window. Her boyfriend thought she was in there for good and was a bit of a smart aleck. In the pouring rain she left out of there. He was fuming angry. Again these folks left, but not exactly everyone is on the same page. Please pray that God would confirm these decisions. Only four ended up going through with it. This is the week that the 24-hour wait period begins. I’m sure a lot of changes will begin as far as clinic hours.

It’s awesome to see a church “adopt” their local abortion clinic. Thank God for Saint Andrew’s!.

Steadfast Love

As told by John Barros:

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. Oh how true those words are. I so look forward to meeting with the Lord down here every morning. His steadfast love never ceases, and it is new every morning to me and all the folks down here.

As I was driving down this morning the chorus to this verse that I probably haven’t heard in twenty years began going through my mind and heart. Right after getting set up I began singing it and then the amazing Sarah Woodroof showed up to serve today. I haven’t been able to see her much lately because of her studies at RBC and now being on staff at her church. I knew it was going to be a great day.

Lacey came down with her baby to help a bit when a car pulled up behind my van. “Greg” had gospel music playing as he dropped Taneesha off. It was really strange to hear gospel music playing in his car while other people’s cars pulled on with that deep gangster rap playing. It was pretty symbolic of the two different kingdoms that meet down here.
Greg jumped out of his car when I began talking to his lady. He is definately one of the most interesting-looking men I have ever met. He had big dreadlocks and his face was covered in tattoos. He shewed her inside but was willing to talk while his beautiful little son was in the back seat. As we spoke about what a gift God has given him and what God thinks of this from scripture, he became visibly moved deep inside. I told him about the cross tattooed on his face and the music on his radio. He began to tear up and said, “I believe but have never gone full-in.”

He was told of his need to repent and commit his life to Christ. Amazingly, because this doesn’t happen often, he said “I am right now.” He asked me to watch his son and he went inside and brought Taneesha out. I was able to get Stella from Choices on the line and they spoke. After they hung up a fight erupted. Greg stood firm and at one point grabbed her and said. ” Don’t you understand? Killing this baby would be just like putting a gun to our son in the car’s head and pulling the trigger.” It was incredible to watch because it was all in front of us. I learned long ago to not butt in where the Holy Spirit is working because He is much better than anything we could say or do. To make a long story short, His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. We stood in absolute amazement at what He had done. Greg was so thankful and his lady was in tears. He said he will call me. Please pray he does.

At one point a homeless man came walking by and Sarah offered him some cold water. This led into her sharing the gospel with him. It was beautiful to watch.

Then about 2:00 a young lady came outside to tell her boyfriend “I can’t do it.” She had been inside since about 8:30. He had been mildly mocking us all day and when hearing her he said, “What?! What do you mean?” She said, “It’s just not right. I can’t,” and off they sped away.

Both of these couples gave one thing in common: they weren’t united in this decision. Please pray that the Lord would change the other partner’s heart als,  that they would not return to this or another abortion clinic, and that they would reach out for help..

Blessed, Busy, Crazy, Awesome

As told by John Barros:

Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. (Psalm 106:1)

What a blessed, busy, crazy, awesome day today was. God is so good. It’s always wonderful to serve with the Wednesday crew. Bill, Samantha, Philip, Tara, and baby Rachel are just a joy to work with. Today we were also blessed to have the ladies who normally minister at Planned Parenthood come by for a bit.

There were two ladies who chose life for their babies today. One was a young Hispanic lady who quietly came out and said “I am not doing this!” Then there was one of the biggest battles I have seen.

A young man with a new Audi A8 showed up about 8:00. He was nervously walking around the building, talking on the phone and would listen to us but would not engage. Then later two pretty young ladies showed up. They stopped in the driveway in their car and spoke to me. He was at the other window trying to get them not to listen. They took info and went to the back. Gina went inside with him and Tataniya stayed outside for a bit speaking with us and admiring baby Rachel, but then she went inside. Pretty much every day about 30 minutes after the preaching someone comes out to hear more or ask questions. Gina and her sister came out. Then the battle hit a fever pitch.

The Lord kept her boyfriend inside, and we were able to show her the hope that is found in Jesus and also showing what God says about this horrible sin. After some coaxing she came out to the sidewalk to pray. When finished she said she didn’t know what to do. She kept asking questions and when we told her God had followed her to the gates of hell to tell her to trust Him and that He would take care of her, she began to cry.

Then “Mr. Wonderful” came out and actually put his arm around her, pulling her away from us and back into the clinic. She refused to go inside. She was told to look at this guy. “God is telling you not to. Your mother, who just found out this was happening, says not to. Your sister is telling you not to. We and our church are telling you not to. Who are you going to trust?” Then one of the strangest questions I have ever heard came out of her lips: “Is this an abomination?” I said of course, God hates the hands that shed innocent blood and you can see in Exodus 21 the value God puts on your baby. Gina and her sister ran to the back in tears saying “I am not doing this!!” Mr. Wonderful ran back trying to stop this from happening. Tara and Rachel drove to Choices with them following.

Then I got a call from Vicky from Choices. She wanted to know if I could come next door to the building they are raising funds to move into. She wanted me to speak, and how awesome it was to speak to some more pastors and donors while ladies from the clinic were getting ultrasounds at their current location. I have to tell you that was very special. Please pray for all these folks and pray that Gina and her sister, who by the way have due dates within two days of each other, truly come to Christ and come to Saint  Andrew’s..

Ten Workers, Three Abortions

As told by John Barros:

Today was a blessing. There were ten workers here today and only three ladies came for abortions. Unfortunately none of them chose life.

We were blessed to have three new people from Saint Andrew’s join Philip Kinkopf, Tracey Sarnicki, and me: Rebecca Sarnicki, Steven Montalvo, and Bill Schlitser. They jumped right in pleading with those who came.

We ended up having a day of much fellowship, prayer, and learning. Tracey and Rebecca spent about 45 minutes with a lady who has been tortured for many years after having an abortion. She was sharing how she ended up an alcoholic trying to numb the pain. Tracey went through the gospel with her. Please continue to pray people away from here..
