Women Impacting the Nation meeting

From John Barros:

I sure would appreciate your prayers this evening. I was honored to be asked to speak at the Women Impacting the Nation meeting tonight in Mount Dora. These ladies do some awesome and vital work. I hope to learn a lot. If you live in central Florida you should come to meet other ladies from all walks of life who work together as a team.

The meeting is at 7:00pm at the Lakeside Inn (100 Alexander Street, Mount Dora).

Update (11:15pm):  Thank you all for praying… it was an awesome evening with wonderful people that gives me hope for our country!.

WHO WILL STAND?

Leclerc Brothers Moving Pictures came to Orlando to help share the story of what God is doing at Orlando Women’s Center through John Barros and the many other Christians who minister there. By His grace many babies have been saved and many lives have been changed by His Spirit.

Watch and share this short video and consider what the Lord may be calling you to do to join the fight around the country and around the world to offer hope and help to perishing children, their mothers and families.

Fake Coupons

Recently coupons from Orlando Women’s Center for a discount on abortions (“Sunday only”) has gone viral, being covered everywhere from Florida Right to Life to Drudge Report to the local CBS affiliate. Even Mark Driscoll posted about it on Facebook.

As John Barros reports, though, Orlando Women’s Center has not been open on Sundays for more than a year. Even though clinic owner James Pendergraft told reporters OWC would be open “seven days a week”, it has still been closed on Sundays because they cannot find a doctor willing to kill babies that day.

He is glad to report, however, that likely thanks in part to all the bad publicity, OWC has not been nearly as busy since it reopened. Before it was raided there were usually 20-25 women each day who came to kill their babies. Now it is more like 8-10.

Orlando Women’s Center reopens

On Friday, July 19 Orlando Women’s Center (now with a second sign on the front of the building that labels it as “Center of Orlando for Women”) reopened for abortions.

Local reporters and camera operators enter Orlando Women’s Center for footage about its reopening.

John Barros reported that about 30 women came in to have their babies killed on OWC’s first day back in business.

Clinic owner James Pendergraft told reporters they borrowed equipment from “other facilities that were in the system” in order to reopen..

Judgement Day?

This morning police showed up at Orlando Women’s Center to seize property, presumed as part of one/more of the writs of garnishment against James Pendergraft. They let John Barros put up the crime scene tape.

They carried out ultrasound machines, examining tables, and furniture from the waiting room, among other things.

James Pendergraft himself (far right in the background of image below) arrived but police did not permit him to enter the building.

Pro-lifers who called OWC found that the phones had been disconnected. Pendergraft’s other clinics in Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Lauderdale are continuing to take abortion appointments.

The Battle Continues

Orlando Women's Center

Last week attorneys reported they were planning to seize all of James Pendergraft‘s assets, forcing his five Florida abortion clinics, including Orlando Women’s Center, to close. Unfortunately the pro-choice attorneys who represent the family with the $36,700,000 judgement against Pendergraft chose to tell John Barros that the clinic closing was a certainty, although they spoke to him before the hearing took place.

Pendergraft and his attorneys were able once again to move assets into different LLCs to make them difficult to seize; until the attorneys can prove he owns these assets the clinics will certainly remain open. According to Jay Rogers, who examined court records on Friday, May 3, 2013, five writs of garnishment were filed on May 2 and 3 and approximately forty (yes, 40!) more will be filed.
