Chelsea’s Story

As told by John Barros:

If you saw Chelsea’s passionate plea to others when she came back to OWC where she had chosen life, this is part of an interview she did after she calmed down. I hope and pray this encourages others to go find more “Chelseas”. Trust me; you will enjoy this:

I am so thankful for the work of Ray Comfort at Living Waters. They have created the greatest video  and a wonderful pamphlet that together God has used to help many ladies and save many babies..

Storm’s Story

Yesterday 19-year-old Storm came down after having a miscarriage a few weeks ago. This is her fourth time back with complications from the treatment provided at Orlando Women’s Center. You can see the “care” a woman can expect here.

She is a sweet young lady who spent the day with us talking about life, death, and the gospel.

September 11

Never forget that 2,977 people were killed by terrorists on September 11, 2001… and more than 3,200 babies are killed by their own mothers every day in the United States.

As reported by John Barros:

It is really getting exciting down here at OWC. Today was a record low for people coming on a Wednesday. It was not unusual for 30+ to come on a Wednesday, and today there were only four. Please continue to pray; it is working!

Today Sarah, a new young lady, came for her first time. She is from a huge church in Orlando (Northland). In all my years she is the first one from there. She jumped right in and couldn’t believe her pastor didn’t believe in this type of ministry.

Hope came from the CFDFL and held a sign for a while and Nicole called out and was able to help a young lady named Storm. Storm was here for her fourth time. She didn’t have an abortion but was messed up by something they did to her. I’ll post her video later. She was so lovingly brought through the gospel and had a time of prayer.

Great day… Please keep praying; there’s no way this place can continue to stay open at this rate.

Pain, Passion, and Hope

As reported by John Barros:

You just never know what a day will bring down at Orlando Women’s Center.

I haven’t seen Chelsea and Michael in about a year. She chose life and came back to show us Makeala and say “Thank you”. When she saw what was still happening here she was overcome and let loose in the middle of Isaac’s message.

When the abortionist Randal Whitney pulled up he started yelling at her for having a baby on the sidewalk. She ran down and told him, like only she can do, what he had done to her at 15. That is the first time I have ever seen that man silenced.

This is all raw… she never intended for this to even happen. She is from the streets. She has been through so much. Please pray for her, Michael, and Makaela… they will be followed up with..

Crisis Pregnancy Counselor Visits

As reported by John Barros:

It is always such a blessing when Crisis Pregnancy Center counselors come by!

Today we were so blessed to have Laurey from First Life stop by with her brand new baby Caleb and her mother Nancy.

She dropped by to encourage and remind us what we are fighting for, and she also wanted to have Caleb begin fighting for lives. There aren’t words to explain how wonderful they are.

Beyond the News poem

I heard on the news today
Of a little child who’d passed away,
But this child, unlike you and I
Never got to see the sky.
She didn’t get to play with toys
Or hold the hands of little boys.
She never got to smell a rose
Or dress her hair in pretty bows.
But in this lies the biggest shame,
She never even got a name…
You see, this child was never planned
So by the mighty surgeon’s hand,
This little girl so full of life
Had to face his cold sharp knife.
Her mother gave the “go ahead”,
Then laid back on the doctor’s bed.
Forced to leave her mother’s womb,
She was murdered in that room.
The topic stated in the news:
“Do we have the right to choose?”
If she were still alive today,
I know what the child would say.

Busy But Good News

As reported by John Barros:

So much bad news out there these days. Even OWC was busy today but there was good news down here. Four ladies chose life today!

Pastor Norm Wilson came down first thing this morning with Chaplain Mike Dumas from Good News Jail And Prison Ministry. Pastor Norm was so moved by what he saw and experienced that he said he will be coming at least once a week.

Tiffany, Mary, Sarah and Bryan came staggered so everyone was covered all day. A Facebook friend, Beth, was driving down the street not knowing we were here and was able to stop for a while. It was beautiful to see God work!

Fewer Abortions Than Clinic Workers

As told by John Barros:

What an awesome day… Jasmine brought Victoria down to bless and help this morning. What a great way to start.

Then God showed off. There were nine ladies who came for abortions. Three chose life and there were two turnaways.

Felicia and her boyfriend Ricardo chose life and then went back in and started screaming at the workers in Spanish about killing babies.

Tenika came with her father;  he came under heavy conviction and told her to get in the car. She wouldn’t so he left her there. About an hour later she came out crying and left.

Then Esther came and even though she has two kids and doesn’t know how she will do it, she chose life. They all went to CPCs.

Thank God he brought Amanda down to help. She is so strong and has such a huge heart.

God is really moving down here. All week there have been fewer people going through with abortions than workers here. Keep praying; they are getting extremely angry!.

We Have Met the Axis of Evil

by R.C. Sproul, Jr.

It is my habit to challenge my brothers and sisters who spend time and energy denouncing this form of abortion, that reason for abortion, or the other context for abortion. The problem with late term or partial birth abortions isn’t late term or partial birth, but abortions. The problem with sex selection, multiple reduction or Down Syndrome abortions isn’t sex selection, multiples or Down Syndrome, but abortions. The problem with unsafe, unsanitary abortions in run down, unregulated buildings is not unsafe, unsanitary, run down or unregulated. The problem is abortions. The problem isn’t when, why, or how, they are murdering babies. The problem is they are murdering babies.

That said, I fear one reason we refuse to come to grips with the horror of abortion is because of its horror. That is, if we live in a country that every five years kills more babies than the Nazis killed Jews, well, we live in a country worse than Nazi Germany. That would mean shame. That would mean darkness. That would mean revulsion. That would mean we have to do something.

That would mean having to completely restructure our meta-narrative. That is, we would have to recognize that our simple view of the world, where Nazi Germany, North Korea, Communist Russia are on one side, while the white hats are places like Canada, Australia and these United States is not only self-serving, but wrong. Given the scope and power of sin in general we ought to be suspicious of putting white hats on just about any institution, especially our own institutions. Given the desperate wickedness and deception in our own hearts, however, we tend to do so.

Syria, Iran, Venezuela, Iraq all have far greater restrictions on abortion than most western countries. There are, of course, all manner of great evils in those countries. But abortion mills on every other corner is not among those evils. When it comes to the murder of the unborn, however, there is an axis of evil. Four nations stand apart from the rest of the world. Four nations, not Muslim, not isolated, not under-educated, four nations alone freely protect the “rights” of moms even beyond twenty weeks pregnant to murder their babies. The four most radically pro-abortion nations on the entire planet are China, North Korea, Canada and these United States. That is our axis of evil.

I know it is a painful truth. I do not delight to speak it. We are not merely off track, losing ground, beginning to stray. I know it sticks in the craw, that it is hard to swallow. But the truth is we are an evil nation. We are a nation that since 1973 has elected five presidents who promised at least to protect the legal “right” of some moms to murder some babies. We are a nation where tens of millions of moms have murdered their own children, with the help of tens of millions of fathers, boyfriends, husbands. We are a nation where Christians, real Christians just like me, spend more time and energy worrying about our favorite sports team than murdered babies.

When we find blood on our hands we are fools to close our eyes. Instead we must wash them in the blood from His hands. We must repent, confess ourselves to be guilty before God. Guilty of idolatry in loving this evil nation. Guilty of blasphemy in thinking we are God’s favored ones. Guilty of taking His name in vain by vainly asking that He would bless this nation. Guilty of resting in our own wisdom, rather than His abundant provision. Guilty of rebellion against the wisdom of our fathers, guilty of adultery in chasing after our nation more than our Husband. We are guilty of stealing the future of God’s children, guilty of lying to ourselves. We are guilty of coveting a reputation we haven’t earned. We are guilty of being the axis of evil because we are guilty of murder. Lord grant us the wisdom to see us for what we are, and the faith to see what You are making of us.

A Bit of Everything

As told by John Barros:

I knew it was going to be a great day when the Reformation Bible College girls returned after summer break. They began praying and jumped right back in calling out to ladies. Delaney and Bonnie are first year students and Abigail is a second year.

It was a long, hot day but Tasia finally came out and couldn’t go through with it. She took information and went to a CPC to get the help she needed. Then about 4:00 a young couple came and spoke with Warren and I. She changed her mind and her man led her out of there and they went to a CPC.

Had a bit of everything today even James Pendergraft himself came by for a few minutes. Keep praying because once again there were more workers than clients. I don’t know how long they can go on like this. Pray also for the couples who left. Thanks again…

[Update from Becky Rivera: “This couple came to First Life [crisis pregnancy center at First Baptist Church of Orlando]… please keep praying for them as they are still torn. Counselors spent a long time with them and they saw and heard their baby’s [sic] heartbeat but still are not solid on keeping the baby. Pray Pray Pray”]
