Crazy Days

As told by John Barros:

Ecclesiastes 9:3 was on full display down here today. It was very busy with 20+ down here to kill their babies.

The craziness was really weird. Clients were fighting with workers. One big lady was going to beat Teria up in the driveway. People were mocking and screaming, trying everything to stop the preaching.

But the main thing that continues to drive them crazy is the singing of hymns. Guys come out begging us to stop because it is upsetting everyone inside. That doesn’t work so they bring cars up front to blast gangster rap to try to drown out “Jesus What A Friend For Sinners”. They threaten to pull out their 45’s. It really is amazing when hell is confronted with heaven!

There was great news though. Hope, who has made a profession of faith, got her new Bible today and continues to devour God’s Word.

Two ladies chose life. One I was worried about but the CPC called to tell me she definitely had.

A daughter of a nurse who works on this street also came to OWC. Her mother was told and oh man did that get ugly. She took a brochure and assured her mother she would go to Choices. Another precious sister called and said she was in contact with a young lady who was 24 weeks pregnant and was going to come down here. We got her in touch with a CPC and will be going there tomorrow morning.

It gets completely nuts down here some days. There is so much to pray for..

Give Them Time

As told by John Barros:

Elsie sent me a message thanking and encouraging for being at OWC on Saturday. She said after we left a mother came out with her daughter, crying and thankful as they chose life.

I’m posting this to encourage others not to leave the clinics where they minister. Many people come down to minister at what they call “killing times”. Then after a couple hours they leave, with some doing a ritual they call “wiping the dust off their feet”.

If we look at the state these people are in–blind, hard, afraid, caught in a trap, and lost. They have made up their minds to do this. They run into us having no idea who we are other than someone getting in the way of them doing what they want. We give them God’s word and it takes time. I would say 90% of the ones who have their hearts turned by God come out hours from first initiation.

I know many can’t but please stay all day if you can. If you are not able to, try to have another shift come in later. God does His work through His word and His people. Let’s be there for those who need help..

Bargain Prices for Killing

As told by John Barros:

Yesterday was a very busy day down here. The lure of a bargain through their coupon program is tough. Even when you tell them why they need to have coupons it falls mostly on deaf ears.

I am so very thankful that Sarah Woodruff from Reformation Bible College came down and ministered all day. She is such a godly young lady. Every time she comes down I see how much I need to grow.

A woman that I have seen bring several girls down in the past showed up with another young couple. She ended up telling Sarah that she is a detective. She had a bunch of papers with her. After several hours the couple did not go through with the abortion. The vile young man was pretty upset.

I don’t know what’s going on down here but police have been in and out many times in the last couple of weeks. Keep praying!.

God’s Timing

As told by John Barros:

There was so much ministry time today. I believe everyone is exhausted. The key lesson today is God’s sovereignty and timing.

My dear sister Saperna is unable to come like she used to, but she came by to bring a sandwich on her way to work. She is a rep for one of the top designers of women’s clothes in the world. As she was there a young lady named Francine came with her mother. Francine was also a design-sensitive girl and she likes clothes designed by some dude named Michael Kors. They hit it off great and after much talking and prayer she chose life and left with her mother to First Life!

Then a young lady named Samantha who had come all the way from Georgia with her boyfriend came out during the preaching. She went behind Dr. Collins’ office, sat on his air conditioner, and wept. She asked for prayer, chose life, and left.

Then there was a young lady named Melissa who chose life a while back for her baby. She was going to give the baby up for adoption but decided to keep her. The baby is still in Winnie Palmer Hospital and Melissa is requesting prayer because she is afraid of being a mom.

The Reformation Bible College kids were loving all over her and Samantha. There’s a chance Melissa will be coming to Saint Andrew’s this Sunday. God’s timing was so awesome. He had just the right people in place to minister to those who came. Please pray for all these folks.

A Gut-Wrenching Week

As told by John Barros:

I have to tell you folks, some weeks it is just gut-wrenching down here. There are so many unbelievably sad stories this week.

I am so thankful that Dana Brenyo stopped by this afternoon just in time to cry and pray with a mother who has a daughter in a world of trouble and was trying to get her daughter out of the clinic.

Yesterday there was a young lady who wanted her child very much but the baby had no brain, spine, or genitals, so doctors told her to get an abortion at 23 weeks.

There have been many others as well.

There was a young man who took his lady Lavinia away, rejoicing that God had sent a “sign”. Donna was able to love on her a bit.

Then there was the “hero” who had been in the military and thought it was okay to bring his wife down here to kill their baby. They shouted that we were wasting our time because nothing we could say would change their minds. He was right nothing we said changed their minds, but God changed her mind and she fought her “hero” on the porch and left.

God works in all the pain and there has been a bunch this week. I can’t wait for the RBC kids tomorrow. Please keep praying!.

Hope and Aryanna

As told by John Barros:

I keep forgetting to post about dear Hope and her daughter Aryanna. Hope chose life seventeen months ago. She has had a rough go of it and needs some help. If anyone in Orange County know somewhere she and Aryanna could live long enough to get on their feet please let me know. Hope has made a profession of faith and spent the day down here today going over the gospel and asking many questions.

Many people had Veterans’ Day off and many came to OWC. Eleven came for abortions and God moved in a mighty way. Jackie and her husband chose life first thing this morning and went to First Life.

Emily came and said she had thought about this for a week or two and had made up her mind. She allowed us to pray for her. She came out during the preaching and stood out listening. Sarah got to speak to her a bit then she went to her car and chose life. Please pray Emily stays strong as she thought the rest of her life was to be “me” time.

Then a young man led his lady away because it had become disgusting to them.

There were two others that also chose life but did not talk to us. Bryan McDaniel and Sarah Woodruff worked so very hard today. What seemed to be the beginnings of a dark day became very bright with the light of God  glorifying Himself.

Bringing Hope

As told by John Barros:

Last week God gave us a deeper understanding of the power of prayer in ministry down here. Then on Friday God sent a group from the Orlando House of Prayer down to serve. Emily Sarmiento has been someone I have always wanted to meet. They marched all around the block praying against this place and prayed with us. Emily was also able to minister to Hope and her baby, who really need some hope.

The Reformation Bible College kids were awesome as usual. Andrew Gilhooley preached just like Jonathan Edwards would have.

Two ladies chose life. One was mocking saying she was an atheist who didn’t believe in God and that we were wasting our time speaking to her. God saw fit to change her heart, cause her and her boyfriend to fight, and then leave.

Please continue to lift this place up in prayer!.

No Abortions Today!

As told by John Barros:

Today was exceedingly wonderful at OWC. I have never seen this happen in all my years here: they were open for abortions today, but nobody came for one!

It was so awesome to have Randal Whitney pull in honking, waving, and mocking only to see an empty parking lot in the back.

The only excitement was another detective bringing more papers.

I always get messages from people saying they are praying for the ministry down here, and I know there are many praying I will never meet. Please intensify your efforts and let’s get this place shut down!.

Who’s in Denial?

As told by John Barros:

I don’t know if OWC is in denial or if I am.

Sunday they emptied a Pod of nice furniture into the place.

Monday they had nine workers there with cleaners. Only three woman had abortions.

I keep wondering how long they can go on like this. An investigator came and took a little baby away. One of the workers told me they were cleaning and fixing up the basement.

Please continue to pray. I really don’t see how they can possibly keep this going with business down so much.
