Video: Mia is Overcome

As told by John Barros:

Yesterday was the last day abortions would be happening at OWC for 2013. It has been a crazy year down here but this video kind of sums up this year. Mia has become a brand new Believer down here and has seen God transform her heart and every other area of her life.

She was overcome yesterday by the number of people coming for abortions and the hardness of their hearts. She asked if she could read one of the 180 tracts and then she was overcome with pain and began begging them to not do what she had done years earlier. So much pain and sorrow began pouring out of her heart.

A lady who was walking by saw Mia’s pain and tried to console her but had to leave in tears. Mia attends Saint Andrew’s Chapel now, and will be going to the post-abortion Bible study group to get help with her pain.

We were able to go through 2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” and 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

This is a capsule, if you will, of the ministry down here. There is so much pain, sorrow, and death, “But God who is rich in Mercy…” (Ephesians 2:4-10). God continues to show mercy and grace to so many down here. I am so glad 2013 is over. Close to 100 of these hell holes have shut down around the country this year, praise God!

Please pray that this one will close permanently in 2014. Please pray for Mia and the others the Lord has brought through here.

Good News

As told by John Barros:

Even in the midst of cowardly guys coaxing and “supporting” their late-term ladies to press on through abortions that were started yesterday, there is good news.

People who heard the Good News chose life. Two babies were given the opportunity to come out. One was a guy who was flipping me and Beth off and saying horrible things. When they came out they couldn’t move fast enough and didn’t even stop to take their licenses.

A lady from First Life came by to tell me they will be open on Saturdays beginning in January with ultrasounds and all services.

Another friend of mine, a clinic worker, has finally made the move to get help and get out of here! I have shared the gospel with her and several others for years. It is very difficult it is for these workers to break away; I have only been part of two leaving in the past (and one of those returned). God’s Word and Spirit are working in this lady’s life in a big way. I can’t get into what has been going on, but knowing I have done what I have been gifted to do and needing to get her help that I cannot provide, I sent her to Daria at True Life Choice. Things are really moving now and would ask that you continue to pray. There are others who want to leave as well. Please pray for all these folks!.

Hardened Hearts at Christmas

As told by John Barros:

It was pretty darn busy down at OWC today. The people were so hardened. You would think being Christmas time they would be softer. Thanks for praying.

Some of my heroes came by today. Amanda Sprague brought little eleven-year-old Jonah and his littler sister Selah down to help. Jonah was as bold as David was against Goliath. It drove one guy crazy. He wanted Jonah to stop, but he wouldn’t.

Then Dana and Savannah Brenyo brought two-week-old Jonathan down. God’s timing is amazing. A young lady named Brittany came down needing prayer for her brand new baby that is in Winnie Palmer Hospital. They were really able to minister to her.

It was a dark day but God shined a light in one young lady who chose life..

Michael, Aisha and Jamaal

As told by John Barros:

A couple who came for an abortion five months ago came here. Michael and Aisha left this awful place without talking to me back then. I thought they had their abortion. But Michael pulled up and said, “Wanna see what you gave us?”

He opened the door of his car to the most beautiful little boy I have seen. Little Jamaal was fast asleep. Michael said his life has never been the same. He said he almost passed out cold when he first saw his son and he can’t believe what he almost did. I almost had a heart attack right there in the middle of Lucerne.

They are so thankful to God that someone was there. It’s all of your prayer that is a vital part of the ministry there and they want to thank you! Please continue to pray for these folks..

Different Kinds of Nurses

As told by John Barros:

Some days are just incredibly surreal down here. So far three nurses have stopped by. Carolyn came by to pray but two others I have not met before came by from the hospital to give thanks to all who come here. They told me of good things from ladies who chose life but also some awful stories. One told me that a girl was taken from here Saturday by ambulance has a very serious injury. She told me if people knew all the stories of girls coming with post-abortion injuries they surely wouldn’t come. Sadly I told her I don’t think it would make a difference.

Then one of the workers pulled in with her radio blaring praise music singing “Come, Jesus…” Then the lady who runs these places pulled up with her window down and told me if I lose 20 more pounds she will take me to lunch.

There are still a couple of girls inside going through labor from yesterday. Sometimes you just can’t wrap your head around this place. It’s like living in a Stephen King novel.

Please pray. It has been a rough week and the abortion appointment time today is noon. The morning is like the calm before the storm..

A Cold Day

As told by John Barros:

It was cold down here at OWC today but not as cold as the people who came down.

One couple arrived in a taxi and she was in full labor, moaning in pain as she came to complete her abortion.

One lady brought her daughter who looked to be 12 or 13.

Then the other abortion clinic shut down and sent everyone over here.

Patte, Bryan, Warren, and Bradley came down and Jeanine even came with pictures to show her baby and the family who adopted her but nobody would listen. It was tough.

There was some good news though: Hope has found a more permanent place to stay and will be working with folks who are opening a shelter for women. Boy is that ever needed.

A man who received the gospel and made a profession of faith in jail was walking on the next street, heard me preaching, and came by to give a report. The Lord is really moving in Ruben’s life. He has been in gangs, drugs, etc. for over 25 years but is really working out his sanctification and is so thankful to God for delivering him. Please pray for Ruben.

Jeanine & Zack

As told by John Barros:

I wanted to give an update on Jeanine and Zack for those of you who have been praying for them. They are my new heroes. They blessed a couple who could not have children with their precious baby.

Jeanine how was able to pick the family she would like for the baby to live with. Life For Kids here in Orlando handled the whole process wonderfully. I can count on one hand the babies I’ve seen go through adoption. I really don’t know why more ladies don’t do this. Everyone involved is truly blessed. Their adoption is open with three visits a year and constant pictures and phone calls from the adoptive parents.

Adoption is such a beautiful gift!.

Ministry Continues

As told by John Barros:

There was so much ministry down here today. Gabriella has such a huge smile because she is going to keep her baby and has an appointment at Choices on Monday. She said she had no idea people do what we do or all the help crisis pregnancy centers have to offer. We got to have a beautiful time of prayer with her.

Beth Goble and Bonnie Franke were helping the ladies and the students were preaching and singing.

God has been moving like crazy down here. People are coming to Christ, ladies are finding places to live, folks are finding jobs, kids will be able to have Christmas presents.

God is so good and I am so thankful for Saint Andrew’s. My brothers and sisters there have stepped up in every conceivable way to fight the enemy and love people down here. And of course above all God is glorified!!!

Warren Marquardt

As told by John Barros:

It’s been such an honor to work with Warren Marquardt down here the last couple of weeks. He loves God and he loves people. Warren travels around the United States sharing the gospel.

Today we got to see God doing amazing work in a young lady’s heart. Deja came out after a long battle sobbing with tears pouring down her face. God removed the scales from her eyes. We were able to give her information to the local CPC and she had us pray for her. Please pray for her.

(Warren heard about John’s ministry through the Who Will Stand video earlier this year.).
